Owner and MAT Specialist John Murphy
John has always had a passion for helping others and having a positive impact on those around him. This along with his competitive sports background, made him take the leap from a career in Aerospace Engineering research to a career in health and fitness.
John is most interested in helping others recover from pain, avoid injury and move with full body awareness. He is hugely passionate about helping his clients realize their full potential both physically and mentally; to BE their best. He loves the moments when his clients realize they can now move pain free and providing exercise experiences where they have “never felt their muscles like that before”.
Because of his engineering mindset, John is particularly passionate about how to make the body as efficient as possible. Since he is still a competitive sports player, he is strongly interested in injury prevention, recovery, and performance in sport (especially relating to soccer, tennis, and squash). This led him to pursue the comprehensive Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) certification which aims to improve the efficiency and function of the muscular system and provides a unique perspective on training the body.
John is biohacking nerd and is always investing in tools to improve his sleep, recovery and performance.
John believes that everyone should have the opportunity, and know how, to live a pain free and optimized life and ultimately this is the mission of the Body Engineers.
